Built with love and intention in 2000/2001, the house encompasses about 2500 square feet inside, with another 1500 square feet of deck for outdoor living. Thoughtfully planned for communal or solitary activities, the space is very flexible and works well for a group or a couple. (Or a single, for that matter, if you're thinking retreat.)
The floors in the public areas are all built of reclaimed antique Heart Pine. Very quiet and very easy on the feet.
The furnishings are a mixture of antiques, custom furnishings, and some odd things that we love. Comfort was a selection priority.
Fine art (well, okay, art) scattered about.
High ceilings and quiet ceiling fans to keep the fresh sea air moving around. Air conditioning and furnaces if you need them. An excellent stereo system with a CD changer. An entertainment center in the family room and TV's, VCR's, and phones in every bedroom. (Feel free to unplug them.) Cable TV.
A kitchen equipped with just about everything you could possibly need (if you feel inclined to cook). There's a convection oven and a microwave, and there's an icemaker in the fridge. There's even a Green Life juicer and a dehydrator included in the chef's battery. (Because sometimes we like to take a week and turn it into a spa vacation. We have organic samplers sent from Diamond Organics and we live on fresh juice. We get massages and take saunas and we walk and we rest quietly and we sleep.)
Four bedrooms, three baths.
Games in the cupboards. Books to read. Extra blankets and generously-sized towels. Things like binoculars and a telescope and flashlights and candles. A laundry room.
to our own needs, hopefully we've addressed most of yours.
