If this is your first trip to the lowcountry, we highly recommend a day trip into Savannah. Savannah's also an excellent place to begin your vacation if you're arriving later in the day by car and want to wait until morning to head on over to Daufuskie. Sometimes that's what we do.

We recommend a room overlooking the water at the River Street Inn. It's a great base camp for exploring historical Savannah on foot.
